» IFBL/PRiM Financial Risk Management
Chamber of Commerce
The IFBL is pleased to announce, for the ninth time, the venue of the eminent Professor Philippe Jorion to Luxembourg from 10th - 14th October 2011. This highly appreciated seminar, jointly organized by PRiM and IFBL, is not only an excellent preparation to the GARP-Level 2 examination, but also an opportunity to learn from a highly respected contributor to the dissemination and usage of the VaR concept throughout the financial community. The Risk Management question is a highly topical question facing board directors, senior executives and investors at a time when calculation of risk positions is proving critical to survival. It is therefore of interest to the risk management community, but also to anyone involved in the assessment, supervision and management of financial risk.

» Islamic Finance - Foundation Certificat & Diploma
Chamber of Commerce
Islamic Finance in Luxembourg continues to gain ground as an attractive alternative to conventional finance. The framework in Luxembourg makes it an attractive centre for Islamic Finance in Europe, whilst the authorities and key market players continue to drive and support the development of this activity. As you may be aware, in 2009 the IFBL launched a certifying foundation training programme in partnership with ICMA Centre, University of Reading. “The Islamic Finance Foundation Certificate” programme, now about to enter its second cycle, covers the fundamental aspects of Islamic Finance, its concepts and uses. The training offer has been developed further in 2010 to create a higher diploma in Islamic Finance. The “Islamic Finance Diploma” complements the existing offer in training by providing more advanced modules and certification. Details of the new modules in Islamic finance (Corporate Governance, Asset Management and Project Finance) are provided in the attached leaflet. Both the Foundation Certificate and Diploma together aim to provide a comprehensive platform from which industry professionals can base their knowledge and go on to focus on the more practical aspects of different activities, such as Investment Funds, Compliance and Private Banking. Should you have interest in any of the courses above, you can register on the attached form. If you have any further question, please do not hesitate to contact the IFBL on +352 46 50 16-1 or by email at: customer@ifbl.lu. docs/trainings/IFBL ISLAMIC FINANCE 2010.pdf
